Accountants Invented Bubblegum

Believe it or not, accountants helped create bubblegum and Post-It Notes! In the 1920s, accountant Walter Diemer accidentally invented bubblegum while experimenting with gum recipes. Later, Art Fry, an accountant, came up with the idea for Post-It Notes after his colleague Spencer Silver created a special type of glue.

This shows that accountants aren’t just about numbers—they can get creative, too! Sometimes working with numbers leads to unexpected discoveries.
