Tag It to Track It
Still guessing where your money’s going? Let QuickBooks tags show you the truth. QuickBooks has a built-in Tags feature that lets you track income and expenses by category—without changing your chart of accounts. Want to know how much you spent on marketing events? Or how profitable your Scottsdale location is? Just tag those transactions and run a Profit & Loss by Tag report.
To set it up: Go to Settings > Tags → Create custom tags (like “Event,” “Q2 Promo,” or “Mesa Office”) → Then apply them to transactions.
It’s a simple way to track the stuff that matters to you, so your data tells a better story—and helps you make sharper decisions.
